- Not every Well Wave point offers all Well Wave services to all young people. Check out the service map before you visit, to find the best point for you. Be sure you have read about the opening times, services and facilities available.
- Think about what needs you might have for the visit, and what might help it go well for you, and about any questions you may have. You might also think about anything the Well Wave worker could do to help you be more comfortable during your visit. You can tell the worker about these when you arrive.
- Writing down or recording your ideas on a voice note ahead of time could help you at the visit if you might get nervous.
- If you want to get in touch with us before you visit, you can, but please be aware it may take a few days for the worker to see your message and reply.
- Messaging or calling ahead can help reduce wait time, and it gives the opportunity for the worker to understand any needs you may have, and to offer you a convenient alternative 1-2-1 time if this is needed and possible.
- When you arrive, please ask to speak to the Well Wave worker. You don’t have to give any other information. It might be a good idea to bring a book, a charged phone, or other fidget or distraction in case it’s busy.
- If you need to give a wee sample for an STI test or pregnancy test, you may want to have a drink before you come, or to bring a drink with you.
- Consider how might you feel after the visit. Is there anything you can plan for afterwards that might help you? For example, you might need some time to think, relax, reflect or to have some support.
